Saltwells Nature Reserve
Jurassic Dragonflies and More! - Saltwells Nature Reserve – Ongoing Projects
Netherton 2010 – Present
The Saltwells Nature Reserve is a highly geologically significant site providing us with fossil samples of Jurassic Dragonflies called Meganeura, visible seams of rock, coal and limestone that illustrates Millions of years of geological evolution as well as a rich recent industrial history.
All of these themes are brought to light in steel sculpture and text in our ongoing projects that range from 1.8 meter wide Dragonflies mounted by roped abseil on the side of the exposed cliff to Interpretive core samples and physical sculptures made from local industrial parts.
